Keep on the Marches and Roll 4 Ruin
This post is part of the RPG Blog Carnival: Underworld & Wilderness Adventures.
As soon as I announced the carnival, I received two submissions, one in a comment of the original post, and one via discord. The former is Roll 4 Ruin: Classic Dungeon Generator by Nocturnal Peacock. It contains 184 illustrated dungeon elements to roll (think chambers, corridors, and similar), making it a lovely complement to AD&D DMG Appendix A.
The second contribution was Keep on the Marches by my friend Ian E., a set of procedures for wilderness adventures as well as for generating random wilderness. On 28 pages it covers wilderness sequence of play, climate, terrain, biomes, movement, animals, navigation, exploration, vehicles, tracking, mishaps, weather, exploration, random lairs, random features and structures, random terrain, random settlements, and more.
Both resources fit the theme perfectly, and are worth checking out.
P.S. Do note that you do not have to write 10+ page documents to contribute—all blog posts are welcome as long as they are on topic, within November, and linked to the RPG Blog Carnival.
