Blogging: The comments are back
Earlier this year the commenting system I had been using died without notice. Alas, all the comments were lost to the void. Since then I hadn't really had the time to look into finding a suitable replacement.
Two days ago, by good luck and fortune, I had noticed a nicely integrated commenting system on the Vorpal Mace blog. Imagine my joy as I learned that yes, it is compatible with my platform! Two days later, and it is fully integrated.
You have in essence two options for commenting:
- Without an account. You simply put in your name and email. That's it.
- With an account. You register your name, email, and homepage (optional). This allows you to always comment with the same profile, plus you can upload an avatar as well. Use postimages to upload your avatar and then use direct link in your profile
- In both cases you will receive notifications from
comments@attronarch.comso make sure to check your spam folder and to whitelist the address.
Markdown is supported so you can use bold, italics, and lists in the comments. Moderation is on, and I have to manually approve each comment. You can give it a try, right below the post.
With gratitude to Edeldhur, Charlie Brawn, and kublaibenzine for testing the system before going live.
